Patents can be added manually to the works section of your ORCID record or can be identified and imported using The Lens. Linking your Lens profile to your ORCID record will auto-populate your Lens profile with data from ORCID. Lens data can in turn be pushed to ORCID to update your ORCID record. External funding can either be added manually or be identified and imported using the DimensionsWizard under the funding tab in your ORCID profile. ORCID provides step-by-step directions about this process.
Trusted individuals can be added to your ORCID account to act as delegates. These delegates can help you manage your ORCID record. Trusted individuals can edit information and make connections with external systems, but cannot edit email addresses, passwords, or delete your account.
The trusted individual does not have to be a researcher, but they must have an ORCID to act as a delegate. Anyone can register for an ORCID at: ORCID: Register.
The trusted individual will receive a notification in their ORCID inbox and by email if they have ORCID email notifications enabled. Additional help for delegates: How can I help someone update their record as a trusted individual?
