Getting Started

Welcome! Use the resources on this guide to find information for your Annotated Bibliography on a Topic in Your Field and your Professional Blog Article.

For a comprehensive listing of search tools, visit the UC Davis Library homepage.

Tips to Keep in Mind as you Begin Your Research:

  • The publication timeline for information sources is variable. If your topic is very current, there may not be lots of books or scholarly articles about it because they take longer to write and publish!
  • There are disciplinary differences in publishing trends. Some fields rely heavily on books while others are more journal-centric or frequently reference other types of sources such as conference proceedings, technical reports or trade publications.
